+A gorgeous pair of turquoise earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each of these dramatic earrings is made of 14k gold and encapsulates a unique "Etruscan"-style design. Each earring begins with a diamond-shaped surmount, which features a small bezel-set turquoise stone and bordering milgrain work. Hanging from the surmount are three, uniquely shaped links that are connected by jump rings and capable of moving freely. The first link is a sleek, horseshoe shaped component, which is decorated with small golden balls. Hanging from this link is a simple curved bar component. The lowest link is crescent-shaped and features twelve bezel set turquoise stones and milgrain work. The lowest link is also decorated with a small gold ball. Featured within the open space between the three links is an ellipse-shaped disc that is able to move freely. Completing the earrings are simple earring wires. The elaborate design has a very elegant look which is striking when worn. They would make a wonderful addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/4" long, measures approximately 3/4" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or turquoise stones. The earring wires are intact and secure.
